Our Story
Our Roots
Shoebox Kft. was established by Slobodan Jaramazovic. In 1998, we opened our first store in Budapest, operating under the name Office Shoes.
We are growing
By 2007, we had opened 50 stores in Hungary, and Shoebox had become one of the leading fashion footwear retailers. In 2007, we made the strategic decision to expand our operations into the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and more recently, Croatia and Slovenia.
Today, our company operates in seven countries: the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia. The subsidiaries in each of these countries are 100% owned by Shoebox Kft.
In non-EU countries such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, and Serbia, we are present with more than 50 stores.
Regional expansion
In 2018, we acquired seven Destroy stores in the Czech Republic. A year later, in 2019, we took over 17 Transporter stores in Croatia and Slovenia. We became a franchise partner of Skechers in Slovakia in 2022.
Shoebox Today
After acquiring the Romanian Skechers store chain in 2024, Shoebox has become one of the biggest shoe distributors and retail chains, with over 220 stores in both EU and non-EU countries. In 2025, we became an official Skechers franchise partner in Poland, and we plan to open 20 Skechers brand stores over the next three years.
